Apple Warns iPhone, iPad Users : Apple is urging millions of users to update their devices after reports of a critical security vulnerability in iPhones and iPads. The California-based company urged its users to download the latest iOS patch a month after issuing a margin update, citing the severity of the situation.

Apple has yet to disclose or confirm the security issue during the investigation, but a vulnerability known as CVE-2025-24201 in WebKit — the browser engine used in Safari and all other Internet browsers made for iPhones and iPads — is believed to be real due to the patch rollout.
“Maliciously crafted web content could be exposed outside the web content sandbox. iOS 17.2 includes a supplemental option to block this,” Apple said in a statement.
Hackers could exploit the flaw, which is similar to the one shown above, to create malicious websites or visit artificial pages once, which would then give them access to other devices outside of the victim’s web browser.
The patch fixed the vulnerability, but added a bug. According to a Forbes report, after the update, users are finding that Apple Intelligence is already active on their phones.

Apple has urged its customers to update their devices due to security breaches, and this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. In February, Apple said it was aiming for the “latest and most advanced” feature where USB Restricted Mode could be disabled on locked devices.
“The latest technology can be used to address specific targeted attacks or issues,” the iPhone maker said. Notably, Apple’s Restricted Mode is a security feature that was first added seven years ago in iOS 11.4.1 and has been included in all subsequent versions of iOS. It prevents data leakage by locking down any accessories connected to the device via the USB-C or Lightning port.
