Tom Homan, former Acting Director of ICE, announced that border crossings have dropped by 93%.

He added, “We still have more work to do.”

Homan also responded to media critics who argue that ICE is arresting “non-criminals.”

He explained, “The reason non-criminals are being arrested in sanctuary cities is because these policies force us to conduct operations in the community instead of apprehending individuals directly in jails.”

He continued, “When we locate a criminal, they’re often with others, and those individuals may also be detained.

So, if a city chooses to be a sanctuary city, they’re going to get the opposite of what they want:

more ICE agents operating in their communities and more non-criminals being arrested.”
